Important Travel Information
for Cote d'Azur Vacations
When to go
The rental period for France villas is by the week, with rentals starting on Saturdays. Some villas require a two-week rental during peak periods (July and August), with a surcharge added to the going rate for bookings of only one week.
July and August are peak season and villas fill up quickly. If you are interested in these popular months, we recommend that you book early (by December or January). May and June in the spring, then September and October in the fall, are enticing months to go. Prices are lower during these off-peak times, and there is considerably more flexibility with regard to the day of the week you choose to arrive and your length of stay.
Passports and Immigration
WIMCO recommends that U.S. citizens ALWAYS travel with a valid passport whenever traveling outside of the continental US. While many of our destinations may only require a birth certificate and a valid driver's license at this time, immigration requirements may change without any notice. For ALL other non-US citizens, please check with the embassy of the country/island to which you are traveling (French, British, Italian) to see if you need a special visa. (Note: If one of a honeymooning couple is a US Citizen and the other is not, a visa is still required by the non-US citizen). When bringing a nanny or babysitter, please be sure that they too have appropriate documentation.
