Italian Villas and Vacation Rentals

We offer a range of luxury rentals in Capri , Florence , Rome , Venice and Umbria , villas in Tuscany and some truly compelling spots along the Amalfi Coast and exclusive properties in Sicily and Lake Como . In Tuscany, cities such as Florence and Pisa glimmer against a landscape of rustic stone farmhouses, olive groves and ripe grapevines.

Our Umbria rentals occupy the pastoral core of "Italy's Green Heart," where wine production in the hilltop town of Orvieto is rivaled only by Deruta's ceramics and summer jazz in Perugia. We also provide breathtaking panoramic allure in Italian seaside villas along the fabled Amalfi Coast.

From any of our villas in Tuscany, you can venture into Chianti wine country or midtown Florence as you like. Enjoy the same independence from our Umbria rentals and Amalfi villas.

Italian Villas With Private Pool and Luxury Vacation Homes

Renting a villa in Italy with a private pool can provide the same level of luxury as staying in a suite in a five star hotel, yet offers a more peaceful and private setting. Few things beat being able to take a dip in your own private swimming pool to cool off after a day of sightseeing, shopping or touring the Italian countryside.

Plus the terrace  surrounding your luxury villa's pool is a great place for the family to gather in the evening. Many of our luxury vacation homes in Italy include a private swimming pool. See them here .

Luxury Villas with a Mountain View in Italy

I taly offers several spots with beautiful mountain views. For example, Villa Jeanneret , on the shores of Lake Como, offers spectacular views of the mountains surrounding the lake. You can enjoy the vistas from your private terrace.

Further south, in Tuscany, Villa Alfieri , a restored country house near Siena, offers stunning views of the region's rolling hills. In the Lake Regions, the restored hilltop Villa Vista Lago offers dramatic views stretching from Bellagio in the north to Nesso in the south and easy access to the region's many exciting sights.

Italian Beachfront Villas and Beach House Rentals

Imagine the beautiful contrast between the sparkling blue Mediterranean waters and the colorful lively beaches. Our portfolio of beachfront villas in Italy includes villas in Puglia, Sicily, Capri and even around the Amalfi Coast.

These luxury homes offer a one-of-a-kind beachfront vacation experience. Most also have their own private swimming pool, and some also have a private boat available to guests.

Five-Star Hotels and Luxury Resorts in Italy

Italy's five-star luxury hotels are legendary. For big-city elegance, we recommend the historic Hotel Cerretani Firenze and the Palazzo Magnani Feroni , both in Florence.

For small-town charm, you can't go wrong with the boutique Hotel Luca in the Umbrian town of Spoleto or the Relais Ducale in Gubbio

And for majestic water views in one of Italy's most luxurious areas, we suggest Covo dei Saraceni in Positano on the Amalfi Coast.

Renting Luxury Villas or Staying in a Luxury Hotel in Italy — Which One Is Right for You?

Italy has so many beautiful and exciting regions to explore. With so much to see and experience, we understand that choosing a single area to vacation in may be difficult. In addition, it can be tricky to decide whether it’s better to go with a luxury villa in Italy or a five-star resort. Both are all great choices. The one you ultimately decide on depends on the number of people in your traveling party, the services you are looking for,  and how you like to spend your vacation.

With a luxury villa, you get more space to spread out. A villa also offers more privacy and the liberty of exclusive grounds. You'll also have your own kitchen, so you can make some of your own meals with local ingredients and not have to worry about finding a place in town that welcomes kids for every meal.

WIMCO Villas can even arrange for a local Chef to prepare those meals in your rental home. Some villas even have private swimming pools and other amenities.

On the other hand, a luxury hotel in Italy puts you in the heart of the action and most have restaurants and spas on-site, so you're just steps away from the amenities and services you like. Whichever type of accommodation you choose, WIMCO’s friendly vacation planners can see to all the services you need.

Which Are the Best Regions for a Luxury Vacation in Italy?

There are so many wonderful and exciting choices that it's almost impossible to pick just one region of Italy to visit. However, we think the following four regions are particularly interesting and enjoyable:

  • Northern Italy ― Easily accessible from Milan, the Italian Riviera and Lake Districts offer plenty of outdoor activities year-round. From skiing and skating in the winter to hiking, water sports and beachcombing in the summer, these two areas are great choices for families who enjoy the outdoors.
  • The Heart of Italy ― Including Umbria and Tuscany , offers something for both city-lovers and those looking to explore the countryside. Temperate year-round, this part of Italy is home to some of the best wine-makers in the world as well as the art treasures of Florence.
  • The Amalfi Coast and > Capri ― Looking for something more dramatic? How about the sheer cliffs along the Amalfi Coast. Combine those with excellent restaurants, luxury shopping and private cove beaches, and you have a destination you'll never want to leave.
  • Sicily and Sardinia ― These two island paradises combine the chance to get away from it all with Italian style, service and cuisine. The largest island in the Mediterranean, Sicily is well known for its dramatic landscapes, Roman ruins to explore, and beautiful uncrowded beaches. Sardinia offers plenty of parks and historic ruins to explore and lovely beaches and charming small towns.

Explore the Italian Riviera and the Lakes Region of Italy — Northern Italy

Northern Italy sometimes gets less noticed than its cousins to the south, but this part of Italy is diverse, fascinating and beautiful. Milan is the fashion capital of Italy. It's also one of the country's best cities for food and wine enthusiasts. From Milan, it's only a short trip to both the Italian Riviera and the Italian lake district.

The Italian Riviera is an extension of the French Riviera, and lies along the Mediterranean Coast. This region features the towns of Genoa, Portofino, Cinque Terre and Camogli, which are all situated near one another. Travelers can travel by boat between the towns.

The Lake District is home to Lake Como and Lake Maggiore. This relaxed, yet luxurious resort area features some of the most sumptuous hotels and villas in Italy as well as beautiful vistas of the lakes with the Italian Alps in the background. The region is known for its many outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, horseback riding and a host of water sports.

Discover the Heart of Italy ― Travel to Tuscany or Umbria

The heart of Italy is home to the rolling hills and vineyards of Tuscany, the charming and historic small hill towns of Umbria, and Florence’s cultural magnificence. In Tuscany, you'll find the Chianti wine district, the fascinating Medieval town of Siena, Florence's many wonders and Lucca, with its historic city center and cobblestone streets.

Umbria, just south of Tuscany, is home to the City of Perugia, known for its Jazz Festival and its delicious cuisine; the Medieval town of Orvieto; Saint Francis' hometown of Assisi; and the beautiful hill town of Todi.

Go South for the Mediterranean Experience — Explore the Amalfi Coast and Capri

The Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri are both known for their beaches and their wonderful seascapes. The Amalfi Coast runs along the western coastline of Italy north of Naples. It features a collection of charming seaside towns with cliff side villas and restaurants, luxury shopping and beautiful vistas. Positano is one of the most popular and offers white sand beaches, seaside hiking trails and that quintessential Italian beverage, limoncello.

Capri, located off the coast from Naples, features the famous Blue Grotto as well as secluded beaches, rugged hiking trails and a cove-studded coastline. The pace here is relaxed and unhurried.

Discover the Two Italian Paradise Islands―Sicily and Sardinia

Sicily and Sardinia are Italy's two island getaways. Sicily , located just off of the tip of the "boot" of Italy, offers beautiful seaside resorts, dramatic hillsides, abundant lemon and orange orchards and historic towns to explore. The pace here is relaxed and carefree and the ice cream is some of the best in the world.

Sardinia offers both beaches and activities for the more adventurous traveler. The island features miles of hiking trails as well as hills for sport climbers. There's also beautiful Neptune's Grotto, which is accessible by boat or by foot.

Where to Go in Italy for a Luxury Honeymoon?

Italy is a great place to choose for your romantic, luxury honeymoon. The Amalfi Coast, outside of Naples, features cliffside luxury villas with dramatic views of the Mediterranean Sea and excellent cuisine.

Florence offers a big city style and history and some of the world's most important art collections. Capri is an island paradise with a casual jet-set vibe and private villas right on the water. Imagine watching the sunset over the water with your new spouse on your private verandah or having an intimate dinner for two cliff sides at one of the Amalfi Coast's romantic eateries.

What Is the Best Time to Visit Italy?

Italy is charming almost any time of year. However, if we had to choose a time, we'd opt for the quieter, less touristy periods between April and mid-June or between mid-September and mid-October.

In July and August, you'll find the most tourists as well as the highest temperatures, often in the high 80s. January and February are the coldest months, with low temperatures ranging from high 30s to low 40s.

Near the Alps, the northern part of Italy is cooler year-round, while temperatures in the southern part of Italy, near Naples and Capri, can reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the middle of July.
